If you've played Mario Kart 7 online, chances are you've encountered the Maka Wuhu glitch that allows devious racers to bypass a huge section of the course. Nintendo knows about it too, but will it do anything to address it?
Stick Twiddlers emailed Nintendo of America about the issue and got this response:
Thanks for your patience in waiting for a response during this busy time of year. We are aware that it is possible to navigate a certain part of the track in Wuhu Island in a way that allows a large part of the course to be bypassed. There are no plans to update the game to remove this shortcut as doing so would create an unfair advantage for the users of the original release of the game. Rest assured your comments have been added to our records for Mario Kart 7.
Do you want to see the glitch patched or have you learnt to live with it?

Maka Wuhu... boy. I hate playing in that course five times in a row. But, hey, glitches are meant to be exploited. At least, that seems to be the general consensus...
Does my freaking head in, that "shortcut" does. But yep, if it's there, then take advantage!
Almost as good as the Wario Stadium & Rainbow Road shortcuts on Mario Kart 64!
So, I have my 3DS right here, and I joined a race. What a surprise, everyone's picking Maka Wuhu!
Well it doesn't bother me... seeing I can't get MarioKart 7 to play online at all: "connection timed out" - But I guess that's a different problem really.
There are no plans to update the game to remove this shortcut as doing so would create an unfair advantage for the users of the original release of the game.
I'm sorry what? How is FIXING a glitch with a patch creating an unfair advantage to other players?
The way I interpret this is that they have no way of patching the game so fixing the glitch would involve putting out a different version of the game on cartridges. This would disadvantage anyone who has the original version as their glitch wouldn't be fixed. Hopefully Nintendo will have a proper patchng system in place on Wii U - in the last few months we've had this and Skyward Sword, two of Nintendo's biggest games, suffer glitches which should be easily fixable.
Sounds like the rep is saying they have no plans to fix the glitch on future prints of the actual game and not a DLC patch.
A proper patching system is in place on Nintendo 3DS and has been used before now, but like JayArr says it sounds to me as though they're talking about the actual retail version of the game. A patch released through the system is still a possibility.
So you mean it's not possible to fix (/ patch / update, call it what you will) a glitch in MK7 ? And here i thought Nintendo learnt from its mistakes...
While this might not decrease MK7's sales drastically it still sends out an image to the devs. Who wants to make an online-heavy game on the 3DS maybe even the WiiU if because of a tiny little oversight people can't have fun with it and won't buy it anymore ?
So in short: I want this glitch to be patched because it decreases the fun of playing online.
There was an old Retronauts episode (1Up podcast) related to the Mario Kart series and glitches that could be exploited; the resulting debate in the middle of the episode was whether glitches like the one explained in this post were specifically created for players to take advantage of or if the game was unintentionally broken. My first reaction when reading this article was "oh great, I didn't even purchase the game yet and someone figured out a way to break it". Upon remembering that Retronauts episode, I decided that if hardcore Nintendo gamers were savvy enough to find such a shortcut, then more power to them.
This isn't like the snaking exploit found and used on MK DS (I never even tried to use it because I felt that it was unfair), but it's an actual environment shortcut found and used by more skilled gamers. I applaud and support these kinds of gamers because they pay more attention to their gamers than average players.
@Wolfcoyote...
What on earth are you talking about? Snaking which took hours and hours of practice to get right on each course, is unfair, but using a boost item to reach a point off a course in an incredibly easy way to guarantee that anyone not doing it cannot beat you, that takes less than 5 minutes to learn somehow makes you a "skilled gamer".
That logic is so completely wrong, I cannot believe it.
I don't think the problem nintendo has is coming up with a patch for the game, rather, forcing everyone to update the game. The 3DS can recieve patches easily enough, but it'd probably have to go on the SD card, and if nintendo didn't plan ahead and add some sort of check for it being updated to the latest version when you go online, they're pretty much out of luck.
=.=; Its just one course. If you play online and the host happens to choose that course, you can just screw up the race by turning off your 3DS when it starts. To annoy the host even more keep joining back in and repeat the same thing as many time you want.
@Sakura_Moonlight2421
I've never heard of that. Is it really possible?
"so keep on dropping"
lmao
If everyone uses it, is it really a short cut?
You don't get it...
It means that if they updated the game, the people who don't update would have advantage as they'd still be able to exploit the bug and someone who have updated wouldn't.
@18 they could make the update mandatory for people who wanna play online
"Rest assured your comments have been added to our records for Mario Kart 7."
Well at least I can get some rest now.
Not surprised at all that Nintendo won't fix this, but they should. Lazy lazy.
Such a shame on nintendo's part. This course is easily up there with some of the most epic & fun courses in mario kart history, yet it is ruined & very rarely now delivers the experience & enjoyment the designers spent a long time creating. What a waste of a great track due to the online majority choosing the glitch over a good ol' race. I dont get it!
Who gives a crap about the glitch if everyone uses it?
It's not that they can't patch it. They can fix it, but people who can't or won't update won't get the fix.
They can't make the update mandatory unless the game supported mandatory updates out of the box. And people who haven't connected their 3DS and only compete locally won't get the update at all.
i only use the shortcut if i see others do it, and then i proceed to beat them
Quote from LordAndrew "And people who haven't connected their 3DS and only compete locally won't get the update at all."
If they cheat with local people (so friends) and don't tell the truth then it's there problem... Nintendo can fix it for people that play this game ONLINE and the server CAN check if the UPDATE is there or NOT and let people PLAY or NOT!
Very lazy and arrogant stance from Nintendo. I appreciate the fact they won't patch and fix every single game they release but an obvious glitch like this HAS to be addressed. It's more or less a game-breaking bug, from my viewpoint, and that is an issue Nintendo seem to not care about.
The glitch itself isn't even the biggest problem for me. It's that it makes people choose the track much too often. I have less fun playing it online because of it.
As many others have pointed out it really shouldn’t be a problem to make the update mandatory for online-play.
If online-play and local-play are separated all they’d have to do is make it mandatory for online-play and leave local as it is. (Or they could use the second option I mention below.)
If they aren’t separated there’ll only be a problem in local if one player got the update but the other didn’t. Let’s make an example here.
Player 1 did the update. Player 2 didn’t. They want to race on the Maka Wuhu track.
I can think of three options now.
Personally I’d be perfectly fine with the second option.
@Sakura_Moonlight2421 (14.): Wouldn’t you prefer not having to do that ?
Well, that's a shame. Cheaters gonna cheat, eh?
Honestly, if I was sitting there playing multiplayer MK 64 in the 90s/2000s and there was a glitch like this, this would probably happen: My cousin exploits it; I smack him; we agree not to use it; next time we both try and use it to our advantage; it's not fun; we mostly just agree not to use it.
I never expected my games to get fixed back in the day, so it doesn't really affect me. But like someone else said, if you see someone exploiting it, you could always just rage quit.
As someone said above, all they need to do is a mandatory game update the next time all users connect online through Mario Kart 7. You download the update, glitch fixed, and all is well.
They can add Block Fort to the battle mode while they're at it....clearly it's a glitch that the course wasn't included at retail.
Well, I'm fine with this. I've only played Mak Wuhu once online, and nobody used the glitch.
rainbow road 64
just sayin' XD
It isn't fare to do the glitch...
So why not fix it?
I 'will never use the glitch because it makes ir unfair
Hopefully there will eventually be a mandatory update needed to play online. The glitch is annoying, but I could live with it if it weren't for the massive amount of people who only choose Maia wuhu online. I'm tired of that course.
Well, truck you too Nintendo!
Well, truck you too Nintendo!
The problem here is: How Nintendo can patch a game that is burned in a cartridge?
If the game was installed on the console (like PS3, X360 or a download game) would be easy to make a patch and make its install mandatory to play online. I suppose the tiny catridge is read only, with a small read/write space for user data.
ive got a huge problem with it. i cant play online anymore since EVERY MATCH I GET IN IS MAKU-WUHU. not even in my communities(or MY OWN communities).
Dear Nintendo:
That is all.
@24
YOU should. if you play online, then you HAVE to play maku wuhu.EVERYBODY picks it. your opinion is bullsh*t compared to everyone elses. they wanna use the glitch, or else they think they'll get left in the dust.
wow a lot of you forgot theblack dragons coment awhile back "anyone who uses this glitch will be seen less as in NLs eyes"
I think it's really dumb. Everybody picking Maka Wahu just completely ruins the fun. What's the point? Yes, you will win; what does THAT lead to afterward? The point of playing MK7 online is to have fun, but if the outcome is predetermined, or you're only racing on one course, well... it stinks. But if you can't beat 'em...
What!?
Really?
"Yes, we know it is broken, and No we're not going to fix it."
That sounds like the new stance of Nintendo for 2012. First the Kid Icarus controls, now the Maka Wuhu glitch.
Fail on both accounts.
Please fix.
lol I got that response 2-3 weeks ago when I emailed them.
i refuse to use the glitch, whether other people are using it or not. sometimes you'll wind up with a group that picks maka over and over, but it's not hard (or at least it hasn't been in my case) to quit after racing maka and then joining up with a different worldwide group. that said, i don't see why it'd be so hard just to require an update that fixes it for people racing online. heck, Nintendo's all about sharing information between consoles, they could totally use StreetPass to pass the update between users as well.
@K-C: i said that for the Nintendo Life communities — if someone glitches in our official communities, absolutely name and shame them! but in worldwide, we kinda can't control what random people do, and those of us from NL who usually race together wouldn't dare glitch on each other anyway. :3
If nintendo can't patch a glitch on their game in 2012. Something is seriously wrong.
Unfair advantage!? What in the HELL does that mean!?!? Excuse my language, but this seems to be a matter of idiocy on Nintendo's part.
I only played online a couple of times. I did not know about this glitch.
create an unfair advantage
Because Mario Kart is all about creating a fair experience.
This is why I hate playing on Maka Wuhu online
I never pick the track but if it comes up online, damn right I'm glitchin' Pretty much everyone seems to know the glitch now so its still a race and perfecting 'the drop' still requires skill when there is 8 of you racing. Also I see it as a bonus because it makes one of the more boring courses shorter. Winner!!
I'd rather Nintendo work on some DLC like extra Gran Prix's, be they new or retro.I'll gladly pay a fiver for four courses.Come on Nintendo, you do like cash dontcha'!!?
I see this glitch being used all the time and it's really, REALLY annoying. Generally, it all comes down to whether or not you can snag a good item in the first item box; if you can get one to use the glitch first, you've pretty much already won unless someone else who uses the glitch gets a blue shell (after doing the glitch). I can do the glitch and I use it, but only because there's no way around it due to this being way too easy and way too abused by everyone.
I actually liked this course until this glitch was known, too. Nintendo really should do something about it... but oh well, it's only one course either way. Could've been worse I suppose. It's still an enjoyable game!
So who said there wasn't a patching system? I don't think this e-mail confirms that
@TromboneGamer They were referring to releasing a new retail version of the game without the glitch which would create an unfair advantage as those with the (glitched) original version would be able to use the glitch online and the others with the new (fixed) version wouldn't. They never said anything about a DLC patch...although I think they are implying that MK7 doesn't support DLC
@PheonixCake That depends on what you mean by "fair". If you mean that everyone is in the same position then Mario Kart is certainly fair. If you mean that skill is more important than luck, well I'll agree that wasn't true for MK Wii but it is true for MK7. I'll say that MK7 is 15% luck, 85% skill, so that the skilled player should still win 6 out of 7 races.
Booooooo
Remember when Nintendo said they would start supporting games after release at E3 2011 (or was it 2010)? I didn't believe it when they said it then and this supports that belief, not that I'm happy to have it confirmed. One of the things that would make me extremely happy is if Pokemon was balanced instead of 5% of Pokemon being overpowered and 90% unusable. This "wouldn't be fair" stuff is an excuse, plain and simple, what's the point of making the 3DS patchable if you're going to be too lazy to patch things Nintendo?
@57 You pretty much have the dlc part correct. Mario Kart 7 was released before the patch that supported dlc so the game itself doesn't support it as a result.
Ok I might be dense here but what glitch are they talking about I dont think I have ever encountered it.
haters gonna hate!
It wouldn't bother me so much if everyone online didn't pick it. Literally every time I go to race online, everyone wants to pick Maka Wuhu. It's boring as hell playing that course four times in a row.
I may be missing out on first place, but it's better than missing out on an entire third of a course. I'm not gonna stop playing the game the way it's supposed to be played just because of a bunch of slackers who need Lakitu's help to get through a course. After all, we gamers have a name for those who line up and dive off of cliffs, don't we? So if your VR points mean that much to you, you can have 'em. Lemmings.
"There are no plans to update the game to remove this shortcut as doing so would create an unfair advantage for the users of the original release of the game."
Wait what? They already have an unfair advantage because of this shortcut. Removing this would make this FAIR.
So wait, now Nintendo is refusing to patch a glitch? I gotta give Sony a point for that, they always try to patch glitches!
NOA is either implying 1. they have no way to patch MK7 because they managed to screw up the programming or 2. they are encouraging newcomers to learn about this glitch to level the playing field.
Incidentally, Nintendo Japan announced that this is a design and urged users to acknowledge the fact (i.e. deal with it).
"Regarding the MK7 issue you raised in your feedback, we have confirmed that the shortcut exploit is indeed possible. We have reported your feedback to the appropriate departments. We apologize for not being able to fulfill your request (of fixing this glitch), but we deem it as part of the design, so please understand." (Source: 2chan)
@29 Exactly. The real problem isn't the glitch itself. I once finished the course in 2nd place last night without glitching. The real problem is that it results in the course being picked way to often by over-competative players who care more about their VR points than having fun racing a variety of courses.
By the way, I encountered an interesting hacker last night. He/she had over 7000 VR points but hacked his way into a Worldwide group with VR points between 1000 and 1200. He/she easily won every race I played in that group.
I don't play online often, but when I do, I just quit and join another game if either of the following occurs:
Since I don't care about online ranking etc, quitting isn't a big deal. I can see how it would be a much bigger problem if you care about your points or ranking.
Might be they are admiting that with the 3DS there is no way to patch games (again).
I hate playing in that track... but if you can't beat them, join them...
Ugh, I wanted it fixed, if it was I'd have beaten so many more players if so. Well I'm still not picking it, and this is highly disappointing but won't stop me from mentioning it on the survey
Nintendo is kinda hand-tied here. It would be hard for them to ensure everyone had the glitch fixed.
R U sure its a glitch and not meant to be there
@39.Fredtoy
I agree 100% with you on the cartridge theory.
Nintendo should just leave it alone though, but be honest here, If you want to use the glitch then use it. Now Online wise then your basically screwed if someone does the glitch.
@74: if you fall off the track in just the right place, the Lakitu picks you up and puts you down about thirty seconds ahead of where you were; the game basically thinks you fell from higher up on the mountain. A true, intentional shortcut (and there are plenty of them in MK7) wouldn't involve the Lakitu at all.
Really Nintendo? You were able to fix the bug in Zelda, the excuse of an unfair advantage would be moot if you made it available in a system update and made everyone install it. Like you did with the blank screen issue in one of the launch racing games (can't remember the name of it now though).
Back in the day, games never got patches. Those were the good old days. We considered glitches as features, ways to appreciate the game even more. But that's not hip anymore, now we spot a bug and whine till we get a patch, that how we cool kids roll these days.
I can't get angered by people that do the glitch while I don't, let them have their fun and let me have mine. I you wanna play normal, play normal. If you wanna win, learn the glitch. If you want everything your way, gtfo and make your own game. Everyone can do the glitch, so saying it's unfair is a invalid statement anyways. Stop whining and join the fun.
@MrPanic: It's not unreasonable at all for us to be asking NIntendo to fix the glitch. You may dislike Maka Wuhu, but some of us love the Wuhu tracks and would like for Nintendo to fix the game so that it can be played the way it was meant to be played. In online play (IDK about local play because i've never had the chance to try it before), the race stops automatically once it's been thirty seconds since the first-place player crosses the finish line, so it's not even about winning. it's about getting to finish a darn race to the end.
Besides, if they'd fix the glitch, people wouldn't pick it all the time, and chances are it wouldn't bother you quite so much. :3
I hate it when people dismiss the whole point I was trying to make by only responding to one irrelevant sentence in my story.
I'll just edit that sentence out, to avoid further confusion.
@6: Nintendo must mean making copies produced after a certain point without the glitch, when they could really just have an online update. Though, it might just be a computerized message.
@MrPanic: I hate it when people dismiss the whole point I was trying to make by making a flippant comment about how I didn't get what they were saying, when I understood them just fine. We'd love to play normal (as you suggest) if that were possible — let glitchers glitch all they like, i'll gladly race clean and take 6th or 7th lol — but sometimes it isn't. Again, the race automatically ends thirty seconds after the first-place player crosses the finish line, leaving any sort of heart-pounding last-minute change-ups impossible for those of us playing against Maka Wuhu glitchers. I've raced at times with the normal crew i race with (we don't glitch on each other), one random will glitch, and the race will automatically end just after the rest of us hit or get through the gliding portion of the track. It's not fun at all, and it's why none of our group picks Maka Wuhu in WW anymore, which is a shame as I really enjoy the track otherwise.
If Nintendo would relent and come up with a patch, there wouldn't be a problem. They released a fix for Ridge Racer 3D via System Update; why they can't fix MK7 is beyond me. Someone above mentioned ghost data being unbeatable without glitching enabled, but I'm sure Nintendo could find a way for wipe the Maka Wuhu ghost-data slate clean in the patch process. I'd be more than happy to redo all my Time Trial times if that were the issue.
Awesome. One more game I won't have to spend my money to buy.
I think Nintendo can't fix this when they could fix Ridge Racer because the issue in Ridge Racer was caused by a system update; it wasn't a problem with the game itself so the issue could be fixed with another system update. The glitch in MK7 is with the game itself, not with the system firmware so they can't just fix it the same way as with Ridge Racer.
What I dont know is what does Nintendo mean by "doing so would create an unfair advantage for the users of the original release of the game." Once they fix it wouldnt all copies of the game be fixed?
Why not just edit the online version, if they can remove stuff from courses, why not just add some more fence to the online one and solve the problem
Honestly, i wouldn't want unearned VR credits because i would soon end up racing people out of my league, and have to taste my own bitter medicine when they pwn the crap out of me. any glitchers who haven't thought of this will find out soon enough. and besides that, glitchers automatically lose bragging rights among friends in most groups. i know that if i found out any of my nerdbros was a glitcher our group would banish him from all gatherings for like 6 months and he would lose bragging rights to all wins for like a year after. and honestly, i could probably figure out how to update the online servers to require the update if i had access to them, so i don't see why nintendo's whole debug staff can't. fail. I don't see why glitchers do it anyway. i just don't see how they can value unearned wins over enjoyable gameplay. and can someone explain to me what this "snaking" in mkds" is? sounds interesting.
...
What?
The_Fox
I agree with you 200%
They really need to patch it in cartridges and with a online update.
This really can't be justified....
You know, there's actually a really simple way to solve the problem that doesn't require any patching or updates. It is easy to tell if someone is using the glitch by looking at their position, which the server of course knows. So why don't Nintendo just put an automatic function into their servers that disconnects anyone who uses the glitch. Then they lose 30 VR. Boom, problem solved. No one will use the glitch anymore because if they do they won't win the race, they lose 30 VR, and they have to go through the trouble of connecting to the network again if they want to keep racing online. The nice thing about this is that it would also work for basically any other glitch like this that might be found in the future.
@Nilkad_Naquada snaking was a technique in MKDS (it was also in MKDD) that basically involves drifting to the left, then to the right alternately to continuosly get mini-turbos on straight stretches. While many say that it is a skill, which I guess is technically true, I see it as more of an exploit which could actually be compared to this glitch. I'm not in the mood to get involved in that debate right now, though, so if you want to start an argument with me about that, do so at another time.
ok wow. time for shocks rant of the day here:
"We are aware that it is possible to navigate a certain part of the track in Wuhu Island in a way that allows a large part of the course to be bypassed. There are no plans to update the game to remove this shortcut as doing so would create an unfair advantage for the users"
um... the fact that this glitch is in the game creates an unfair advantage for users already, adding in a patch would fix this issue. saying it could create an unfair advantage by fixing it just translates into this.
"we here at nintendo know we screwed up pretty badly with that map, yet we are too lazy and dont want to spend the money to fix this issue. so instead here is a cop out excuse. have a nice day" i agree with the masses and masses of nintendo fans who want this fixed. cause I (like them) am tired of trying to find a good set of people online who want to play other maps other than maka wuhu. this always seems to be the chain reaction.
1 search for race
2 find a race
3 someone picks maka wuhu
4 they lose or fail at glitch yet continuously pick maka wuhu
5 other racers join in and thusly pick maka wuhu
6 maka wuhu is the only map that is now played.
this is an issue that really needs to be adressed seeing as this chain raction seems to happen 100% of the time and it takes away from the online gameplay.
I was racing online in MarioKart7 earlier tonight and finally performed the game-busting glitch online for the first time. Previously, I had only done it in time trials. I voted for Maka-Wuhu just to see if I could do it, and Likatu dropped lifted me up to the mountainside and my position was 1st place. I didn't see the opponents on my radar again until after my character circled the victory circle, I could see the the other players sailing in towards the finish line. Satisfied, I then voted for another course, and immediately there were two fresh votes for Maka-Wuhu. Two of my opponents (who did not glitch the previous lap) glitched with me, and I failed my on my first glitch attempt but not the second, and ended up finishing 3rd behind two other glitchers. I got a triple red shell item and almost caught up with the help of someone else's blue spiney, but still maintained an easy 3rd place in an 8-player race. The very next race dropped down from 8 players down to only 5, so I think a lot of the other players got mad and left.
After that, I never voted for Maka-Wuhu again, but I always find it amusing to glitch every time whenever that race is picked. I earned over 400 points over the course of several hours, climbing from 1070VR to 1548VR but the majority of those points were non-Wuhu courses. I did make a good number of 1st places on a variety of different courses tonight. My nickname is "[star]StarDust[star]" and I always play as Rosalina.
Well, I wouldn't be too too bothered if it only were for this one glitch, but within the 1st month of the game's release, four or even five glitches (I can't be supractive in this game, so please bear with my reduced knowledge.. ) have been found. MKW was bad in terms of game-breaking glitches, but this just tops it. They're all ridiculously easy to perform, so you can't really say they pose an unfair advantage over other players.
I'm just mad/angry at the fact that they.. I dunno, exist. It's plain annoying. And I kinda expect Nintendo to be a bit more cautious, even more so with their flagship titles.
I know most of this was written on a subjective basis. I just can't help it but putting it this way.
I did it once, when my brother got this game for Christmas. He heard there was something like that.. which surprised me. He never really cared for MK games before, except MK64 and MKDD back in the youth. He found out about this shortly after he got the game. ^_^
@emirblade(75.): What theblackdragon (83.) said. I don't mind it as much as the effect on online races though.
@NeonShell7(92.): Not a bad idea. But i think implementing this wouldn't be much easier or cheaper than just fixing the glitch itself.
@The_Fox (41.): You, good sir, win this thread.
man. many people have high vr.... i should start playing again.
has anyone mentioned yet that it would be unfair for players who are new to the game to not find/see this glitch. if someone has mentioned it plz, feel free to correct me.
Huh... The return of the Wario track huge shortcut from MK64. Wow, talk about learn the shortcut or fail.
Part of me wants to entertain the idea that including one "course-breaker" shortcut is now tradition amongst the dev team. Like that so many games include Totaka's Song, and several Zelda games since LttP have a finger-quotes 'glitch' or exploit against the final boss, the Maka Wuhu glitch may well be an intentional jibe.
Last night, I prevented a guy from exploiting the glitch. He was getting ready to use the mushroom, but I stopped him with a shell, crippling his attempt. Then I ended up getting first, fair and square. It was my proudest moment ever playing Mario Kart 7, by far.
@MagicEmperor Like.
I win the glitch all the time its getting aying they some put some bridges on the water or make the road bigger
There are numerous ways Nintendo could fix this. Future games should have a spare 10-50mb min.(imum) extra space on the card, reserved for patching.
As for this, I enjoy the course, & will continue to pick it. Now that I know what the glitch is(thank you, tbd #77), to a certain degree, I will attempt not to perform it accidentally, or otherwise.
See you all online, as "Capt_N"! I will attempt to race honestly, & not accidentally glitch.
@Neonshell7: ok thanks. i personally, having now found out what it is, see it as more of a skill techniquebut i also really don't feel like arguing so let's just agree that we both put in our opinions and leave it at that. live and let live. funny thing is, i've been doing that in mkds for years and just never kneew that some people consider an exploit. but i almost never play mkds multiplayer so the only people i was stealing wins from was 150cc computers and they're so overpowered that really i was just leveling the playfield. i prefer the good ol days when 150cc meant better ai rather than higher level of cheap shots right at the end of a race.
Unfair? How so? If your playing online, it shouldn't be too hard to make a mandatory patch before you can play when you connect online. If in local multiplayer, you can just beat up the person cheating lol.
Really, that's a pathetic excuse, Nintendo -_-
In my opinion, I think Nintendo is just too cheap and lazy to patch the game up. I rly hope this doesnt take over the WFC.
If the game is bugged, and they are pretty aware of this, and if they refuse to fix it, their only "honorable" movement would be to reduce its price drastically.
I wondered why I went from 1st to 8th in the space of a second when playing online. Well I suppose I will now have to cheat to stand a chance. Nutz that they're not fixing this. Shame on you Ninty!
It's almost as if Nintendo WANTS to be seen as a joke by gamers. It's sad, they used to be so great. Then crap like Friend Codes and Mario Galaxy came into play.
@Flutterguy: Mario Galaxy is not crap. 1 & 2 are two of the most epic Mario adventures ever made...
@Flutterguy Yeah... I'm pretty sure Mario Galaxy is way better than you just made it sound. Let's just hope that was a very specific typo.
Yes everyone always picks Wuhu mountaion loop. I don't even know where it is? Can someone please tell me?
This is just pure laziness on Nintendo's part. Luckily, the people I have played with online recently haven't picked Maka Wuhu.
@MagicEmperor I know... Everyone picks the stage because they suck at the game or want to be a immature showoff. I've turned out to beat some of the racers without doing the glitch when they did the glitch.
((I know how to do the glitch.))
@LuigiTheGreenFire I think mostly everybody got tired of the glitch and turned out it was overused. I just hope no one brings mods/hacks into the game, like Mario kart 7.
A guy off YouTube clipped a video of this glitch a week later after the game released. He found and said, "its a cool glitch. It helps you racing people. But I recommend don't do it or no one'll play with you". Gee what'da know.
Liars.
