Treasure's Guardian Heroes is one of the SEGA Saturn's best games, and its recent Xbox Live Arcade re-release isn't bad either. The original development team has now banded together once more to create Code of Princess, a Japanese action roleplaying game for 3DS.
Set for release by Agatsuma Games in Japan early next year, the game supports up to four players and features illustrations by Kinu Nishimura, whose previous credits include Street Fighter III and Cyberbots. As you can see in the screenshots below, it's very similar to Guardian Heroes with co-operative play, real-time battles and arguably the biggest sword we've ever seen.
Here's hoping we see a Western release in 2012. Rising Star, XSEED; we're looking at you.

Been keeping an eye on this one for a while now. Hope to see it on the west, uncensoured.
nice one ive restarted tales of abyss twice now but know what im doing now.looking forward to heroes of ruin and this new one.gonna be getting quite a few good rpgs for 3ds.
nishimura kinu is one of the best video game artists ever, she's one of my faves. i love her style. check out her streetfighter, capcom vs snk, rival schools and darkstalkers artwork.
i don't think i've heard of this one, but based on those screenshots, it looks pretty good. hope it comes on the 3ds.

I've been following news of this for a long time... but I had no idea it was the team that made Guardian Heroes..... NOW I know why it's a big deal, and why it is a MUST HAVE.

Attn: that mostly naked woman and giant sword are both really cool things. There's just no pleasing some people. I'm looking forward to this one!

This game does look pretty good, hopefully it gets a western release.
Guardian Heroes on Saturn was fun and inventive. It was the only Saturn game that made me care about Saturn. This is promising. All 3DS needs next year is Metroid and I'll HAVE to give in. As long as it's not just a hunters sequel which would be disappointing.
The press release mentioned how the characters were originally designed to be figurines, which is most likely where that scantily clad sword-grabber comes from. Doubt such an asset would make it into the proper game. Either way, more original power coming to 3DS. 2012, baby.

Guardian Heroes is one of my favorite games of all time, so I'm definitely going to be watching this one. I'm a little concerned that that lady with the giant sword isn't dressed appropriately for battle, though.
